After celebrating our 1st Birthday in December & winning "Best New Bar in Australia" at the 2006 Bar Awards (Think the Oscars, but replace Films & Film Stars with Bartenders & their Bars) we have decided to up our game. We have had some massive changes throughout the venue over the past few months, with the aim of providing you - our friends and guests - with 1st class standards, service, & quality. The best possible "Golden Monkey experience!
We want the People's Choice Award! (Doesn't exist yet, but it should!) To do this we've gone outside the proverbial lounge bar box with the aim of creating an unforgettable sensory experience, rather than just another bar to have a drink in!
Through the door & down the staircase into our 1920's style "Indiana Jones-esque" Opium Den, delicate aromas of the Orient capture your senses. We (the good looking ones) guide you to a place at the bar or one of our hidden away tables. Refreshing cucumber water is served to cleanse your palate, ready for a taste explosion in solid & liquid form, chosen from one of the most comprehensive, educational & enjoyable menus you've ever read (we hope!).
Throughout this menu you will see incredible Asian cuisine complementing a wonderful cocktail list: innovative Asian themed house cocktails - "Monkey Fashioned - Yin and Yang", classics lost in time - "Back in fashion", and those that everyone know -"Unforgettable". All our drinks are made with the finest ingredients we can lay our paws on. Glance through our library of luxury products, one of the best premium spirit selections in Melbourne, served by
