About Me
I became a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture following a desire to ease people's pain and suffering with a proven and reliable method. Unlike the apparent trials and errors of modern pharmaceuticals, traditional acupuncture enables the body to look after itself, which in the long term, is more beneficial to the patient.
Therefore I constantly undertake research and study to find the most efficient and effective treatment available in order to heal my patient.
A current problem with many western medical clinics is that General Practitioners do not have time to explain much to you and you are left feeling like a number with a prescription for a packet of pills.
There is nothing more frustrating for a patient than to not understand what is happening within their body. That is why I place great importance on explaining to you, without using confusing medical jargon, the factors that have brought about your illness. This is one of the reasons that motivated me to undertake training in both Western and Eastern anatomy and physiology, specialising in Chinese Medicine.
Given that a clear understanding of your constitution is essential for your wellness, one of the key factors to the success of treatment lies in my emphasis on educating my patient. Thereafter, you will be more attuned to warning signs within your body, before they become serious. This will also help you with your general health and well being as you will be able to identify the parts of your life that are having a negative impact on you and focus on correcting them.

Techniques Used
Acupuncture
The needles used in acupuncture are very different to the hypodermic needles used in Western Medicine. Acupuncture needles are not hollow and they do not slice through skin and muscles. Instead, they have a conical shaped tip, parting the skin and muscle as the needle glides into the acupuncture point. This means that there is little to no discomfort when the needle is inserted. Acupuncture needles are single-use and sterile, and they are made of stainless steel. Therefore they do not break or cause infection.
Moxibustion
This is the process whereby a small bundle of herb is burnt either on the end of the needle or over the skin of an acupuncture point. This is used to put warmth into the channel to remove cold blockages, or for such conditions as "frozen shoulder".
Cupping
Heat is placed inside a cup to create a vacuum which is then placed
onto the skin creating a suction effect. This is used to remove toxins and old blood from sore muscles. As a result of this the skin may appear bruised at the site of cupping due to the toxins coming up to the surface. There is no discomfort and the marks will disappear after a couple of days.
Granulated and Patent Herbal Formula
As most people these days donÂt have time to spend hours cooking herbs, I use easy to administer patent and granulated herbal formulas. These are as simple as swallowing a couple of tablets, or a spoon of granules. Each formula is individually matched to your condition to ensure maximum effectiveness. All the herbal formulas used are TGA approved and 100% natural.
When can I make an appointment?
Consultations are available on:
Monday 9am-6pm
Wednesday 9am-6pm
Friday 9am-9pm.
Please phone Dr. Orloff on: 0403 830 872 to make an appointment ahead of time.
Consultation Information
We begin with an initial consultation which lasts for approximately one hour. In the first thirty minutes, your detailed medical history will be documented, along with an investigation of the symptoms that brought you to our clinic. Your tongue and pulse will then be examined as these are essential diagnostic tools in Chinese Medicine. This allows me to more accurately determine your condition and plan necessary courses of action. A diagnosis and treatment plan is made, followed by your first treatment. You can expect to rest on the treatment table for about 15-20 minutes while the acupuncture takes effect.
Subsequent consultations are usually shorter, lasting between 30-45 minutes. Here I assess the changes which have occurred since your last visit, and then proceed with the necessary treatment.
Initial Consultation $62.00
Subsequent Consultations $45.00
